School Meals
Our school lunches are cooked fresh to order by Jo and Wendy from Chartwells in our very own on-site kitchen. Edwards and Ward have earned an excellent reputation for providing fresh food that is popular with pupils and provides great value for money. The menu provides a balanced range of healthy options which includes vegetarian meals.
Jo and Wendy take great pride in offering lunches that appeal to all ages and offer a three-week rolling menu. Special requirements can be catered for and copies of the menu can be requested from the school office.
To book your child’s lunches you will be asked to complete an order before the start of each term, parents / carers for all children having a school meal (including those having Universal Free School Meals) are required to pre order. Children in Years 3 – 6 will be charged £3.00 per meal on the day the meal is taken, this is paid for via your Parentpay account.
Children are of course welcome to bring in their own healthy packed lunches.
Free School Meals
Universal Infant Free School Meals and Free School Meals (FSM) school meals are free for all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. These meals are known as 'universal infant free school meals'.
However, if your family are living on a low income and claiming certain benefits, your child may be able to get a free school lunch in year 3/4/5 and 6, these are known as 'benefit-related free school meals'.
If your child qualifies for benefit-related free school meals, you should apply for this when they start school as the school will receive a payment which will be used to support your child — this is known as Pupil Premium.
